NCER Highlight Video will be featured on NASA TV!
You may have noticed several camera crews filming during several of the events at this year's NCER. The NASA Robotics Alliance Project, Diamond Circle Sponsors of the Botball Program, have made a fantastic video highlighting the National Conference and the students' accomplishments. We don't know exactly when the NCER highlight piece will air - but we will notify you as soon as we do! Stay tuned...

After two years of planning and preparation, the 6th annual National Conference on Educational Robotics has concluded! With 65 registered Botball teams and over 500 participants, it was the largest event we have ever presented. We are thrilled that so many teams from Hawaii, the mainland, and the world were able to join us in Honolulu.
We know that everyone who attended will agree: the 2007 NCER was our best EVER!

International Botball Tournament
The competition was fierce during this year's International Botball Tournament and each and every team preformed extremely well. Out of the 65 competitors registered for the tournament, Cedar Brook Academy from Clarksburg, MD took home the coveted 1st place Overall award. Cedar Brook Academy also placed 1st in Double Elimination, 2nd in Seeding, and won the award for Conference Leadership. Close on Cedar Brook's heels was the Southwest Covenant Botball team from Yukon, OK. Southwest Covenant placed 1st in Seeding, 2nd Overall, 3rd in Double Elimination, and won the Judge's Choice Award for: Most Innovative and Effective Manipulator. Crystal Spring Uplands Schoolfrom Hillsborough, CA rounded out the top three overall teams by placing 2nd in Double Elimination, and 3rd in Seeding.
A list of all the tournament awards and awards for other NCER related events have been posted at botball.org. Congrats to all! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beyond Botball Tournament
There were a few new faces competing in this year's Beyond Botball Tournament. Kai AhHee and Earl's Garage (Hawaii), Botnicks + Linda (Texas and California), and The Ron M@ster (Japan) joined Beyond Botball veterans Team Scientas (Florida), OU Robotics (Oklahoma), The Return of Pins and Needles (Maryland), and Fishtank Assassin (Illinois). Fishtank Assassin battled The Return of Pins and Needles during the final round of Double Elimination for the second year in a row. This year, Fishtank Assassins were the the victors. It will become quite a grudge match in '08 if these two teams meet again in the final round!

Photos are up on Flickr!
Botguy spent the majority of his time at NCER snapping pictures of the students and their robots. Since he's been back in the office, he's been pouring over the pics and adding the very best ones to his Flickr page.
To make photo navigation a little easier, the photos are arranged in a 'collection' called 2007 NCER. Within the collection, the photos have been categorized in sets.
Click on the links below to check them out. It's totally worth your time to take a peek - the shots are GREAT!
